The temperature is usually between 18 degrees to 32 degrees. The season from December to June is dry and the other months of the year are rainy. The southern part of the island is known to be drier than the north side as the northern side experiences more rain. There are storms also occasionally which cause damage to the houses and the crops of the region. The rains are frequent and this can make the place uncomfortable for the visitors.
Economy
The most important sector of the economy of Canouan Island is the agriculture sector and it has extensive production of banana. The most important and prominent part of the service sector is the tourist industry and with the rise in tourism it is important to develop it also adequately. With improvement in tourism the construction sector in the recent times is also growing at a fast pace. The main problem and the hurdle to the development of the island is mainly because there is excessive dependence on banana production and with years like 1994 and 1995 when storms destroyed a large part of the crop, there is a lot of problem in the economy. There is a very small financial sector in the economy of Canouan Island and the manufacturing sector is also small. Approximately the GDP of the island is around 4%.

The average temperature of the Island is around 27 degrees. The months from November to February are very cool and are comfortable. As the Island is close to the equator the temperature varies between 18 to 32 degrees and is not very cold. The Island experiences frequent rains from the months of May to October and the average rainfall in the area are around 380 cm in the inland and 200 cm in the coastal regions. The winter and the spring months of the year are more comfortable and this makes these months the ideal time to visit the Island.
