Fishing vacations have really caught on in the world of travel and have
converted an obscure hobby in to a well-loved form of entertainment.

Most travelers have a penchant for fishing in the open sea and to cater
to them, travel operators have come up with innovative saltwater fishing
vacation packages.

Fishing vacations are a fun way to spend time with loved ones while
engaging in a relaxing activity. Many places around the world have
dedicated a significant amount of their fishing activities to promote
tourism. Coastal regions are now equipped with holiday resorts and
vacation villages that conduct daily fishing trips in to the local
waters. Most of these resorts are located along secluded beaches,
surrounded by warm tropical waters. Thus, with a fishing vacation,
travelers get to visit some of the most exotic locations the world has
to offer. Moreover, many fishing vacations concentrate on orienting the
travelers towards nature and hold regular kayaking and trekking
expeditions along with the fishing trip.

Saltwater fishing is carried out in salty or brackish water along the
coasts, in the deep-sea or in estuaries and swamps. Beach fishing refers
to casting the line from the land or from boats anchored close to the
beach. It is the most successful form of fishing on a vacation since
most of the fish species are found close to the coast. Visitors can
expect to catch Tuna, Cod, Pike and Barracuda. However, precautions need
to be taken because dangerous species such as Lionfish and Bow-jellies
are also based in the shallows near the coast. Deep-sea fishing is much
more tedious and requires fishing-enthusiasts to go about two miles away
from the coast. Many of the fish caught in this region of the ocean such
as Anglers and Hatchet are not edible. Moreover, the deep-sea
environment has been seeing drastic degradation due to over-fishing and
any such activity carried out in the region will only harm the
eco-system further. Estuary fishing is mainly fly-fishing and requires
travelers to get down and dirty within the swamps.

If you have ever fished for steel head or salmon you know that when they hit, sometimes they take off like a freight train. Although mono filament has some stretch to it, this trick will make sure that when the fish hit hard your line will never break.
